Happy Birthday Grandma Sue!

Suzanne Louise Dittmore born January 18, 1935 in Tacoma Park, Maryland- anybody's guess how old she is in this picture. They painted in her red hair after the fact, as they did with black and whites back then. However, that does not mean that it was not red! How many of you think your babies take after Grandma Sue?

Suzanne crawling on the grass in the top picture and Barbara Jean in her little dotted sunsuit. 1935 - looks like summer.
Suzanne and Barbara Jean. 1935

Adventurous at an early age.

There is a reason that she gives as baby gifts "The Read Aloud Handbook". She started reading at an early age....or pretended to read...or looked at pictures.

Barbara Dittmore holding Suzanne at the White House Easter Egg Hunt - Hey history buffs,
who was the President in 1936? That would be Franklin D. Roosevelt.
A little more activity on the White House lawn. Suzanne is far right in the little white hat - about to pop an egg in her mouth.
Barbara Jean spreading dandylions - Suzanne picking them for her - partners in crime.

How 'bout that little go-cart thing?
In a sun suit on a swing. What is not cute about this picture?

Yep - they had cars back then...

This hat and coat look like her Easter ensamble at the white house - perhaps this picture is out of order....That looks freakily like Yvonne as a toddler. (See earlier posts)
Christmas day - Suzanne on far left holding what I suspect is a new baby doll. BJ in the middle.

And here is a classic image of old time Christmas morning. Should be on a card.  BJ probably got the big buggy....
Suzanne and BJ - again - Suzanne appears to be the mold that Yvonne was cast from. Weird.

Suzanne, Marlin, Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean, Barbara, Suzanne, Marlin (dapper fellow) and Sandy in the front.

Dittmore girls in the summertime in the backyard of 230 Christie Heights Street in Leonia, New Jersey, maybe 1945.  Barbara Jean is the tall one on the left, Sandy middle back, Suzanne in glasses on the right, Marilyn and Marlene, or Marlene and Marilyn on the front (I think they are interchangeable)

OK- I asked grandma and she said this is about 5th or 6th grade.... why does everyone from the 50's look like they are 30 from about age 12 on?

Lastly - Suzanne at what I am guessing to be about 12 or 13 years of age. Taking in the rays - with her skin, probably got sunburned.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Grandma Sue, 78 years old January 18, 2013.
